Berlinale 2025

There is a lot that cinema can do. Films can touch us, bring us together with friends and strangers, and help us understand each other. This is true of films themselves, but also of those who work for a more inclusive industry, ensuring that work is made and championed which shows the diversity of lives on screen, or those who reach out to audiences from different communities to help make cinemas and festivals more welcoming spaces and more representative of the world we live in. In all this, the BIPOC Alliance is a pioneer and its collective structure a model for us, showing how the film industry can empower those who have been marginalised, become fairer and healthier, and, above all, a better version of itself. We are delighted to partner with the BIPOC Alliance, with its well-curated programme of networking and talks, and we welcome it back for the second year and even stronger.

Welcome to the Berlinale and thank you for being part of our community!

- Tricia Tuttle, Berlinale Director
